Dewey Readmore Books (1987-2006) was the library cat of Spencer Public Library, Spencer, Iowa. Abandoned in the library’s drop bin on a cold winter night, Dewey was adopted by the library and lived there for the next 19 years. A book was published in 2008 to recount his life.
