The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a 13-digit number that uniquely identifies a book product. An ISBN is assigned to each format (hardcover, paperback, ebook and audiobook) of the same book. A new ISBN is assigned to each revised edition. An ISBN cannot be reused.
